Eleven senior Jordanian officials, including the kingdom’s Director of National Security, resigned Tuesday following last week’s bombings in Amman. King Abdullah II appointed Marouf al-Bakhit, former Jordanian ambassador to Israel, to replace outgoing security chief Field Marshal Saad Kheir, a former head of Jordan’s intelligence department.
The king also accepted the resignation of Royal Court Chief Faisal al-Fayez as of Nov. 16. He was replaced by Salem al-Turk. He also accepted the resignation of his Advisor for Islamic Affairs and Chief Justice Sheikh Izzidin Al Khatib.
Other advisors to the King, who left their jobs were: Yousef Al Dalabih, King's Private Advisor; Aqel Beltaji, Sima Bahouth, and Hani al Molqi, King's Advisor for Science and Technology; Mohammad Muneer Al Dorah king's Private Chamberlain; Tahseen Shurdum and Yousef Malkawi.
