Jordanian Ministry of Health revealed its decision to give the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to those aged 18 and above, for whom it has been at least 6 months after getting the second dose, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The ministry stressed the importance of receiving the third vaccine dose, as immunity decreases six months after receiving the second dose. The ministry also highlighted the effectiveness of the third dose by raising immunity for all age groups.

The ministry expressed that it is preferential to have the third dose be the same type as the first and second doses.

However, the ministry also noted that if the type of vaccine in the first and second doses affected the person and caused complications, then the type of vaccine can be changed in the third.

The ministry called on people to head to designated centres spread throughout all governorates of the Kingdom and receive the vaccine.

They indicated that receiving the third dose does not need to be registered on the platform and the recipient of the dose will receive a certificate of proof.
