Jordan's Muslim Brotherhood on Sunday urged Arabs and other Muslims to act to foil any attempt aimed at compromising the holy city of Jerusalem, which Israelis and Palestinians claim as their capital.
"We exhort the sons of the nation to act to foil all the plots that will eliminate the Palestinian cause and its right over the land and holy sites of (Jerusalem)," a statement by the Muslim Brotherhood said.
"We also call for support for the forces of jihad (holy war) and resistance against the Zionist scheme, particularly the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas," said the statement faxed to AFP.
The Brotherhood charged that negotiations underway between Israelis and Palestinians at Camp David were aimed at "compromising the nation's right in Palestine".
"No to giving up an inch of Jerusalem or Palestine," the statement said, stressing its "rejection" of any agreement that might emerge from Camp David to undermine Palestinian and Arab sovereignty over the holy city.
