Kassari's film awarded

Yasmine Kassari's film, The Sleeping Child (Morocco/Belgium 2004), stared by Mounia Osfour and Rachida Brakni, has just been awarded two new prizes in the 17th Premier Plan (foreground) Festival of Angers, France. The prizes, the Public Award and the Acting Award, were given to Osfour and Brakni.

 

According to <i>Yabiladi</i>, the film has already granted a number of prestigious awards in various European film festivals.

 

The film's story takes place in contemporary Morocco, it focuses on a young pregnant woman, Zeinab, who was left by her husband one day after their marriage. Waiting for her husband, who never comes back, she puts her fetus to "sleep."
