AP reports that Kenyan police arrested four men attempting to travel to Libya to join Daesh.
The four accused men remain detained in Mombasa. Police are continuing their investigations for 30 days before officially charging them.
Daesh is using Libya as a base and recruiting heavily in Africa. Kenyan officials stated to AP that at least 20 Kenyans have left the country to join Daesh. In February, a university student was arrested for attempting to travel through Sudan to join Daesh in Libya.
Kenya also borders the turbulent Somalia, which is facing the al-Shabaab militant group, affiliated with al-Qaeda. Daesh and al-Qaeda have clashed numerous times while vying for control in northern and eastern Africa.
