Keep the kids happy on summer flights with Emirates’ extended choice in inflight entertainment.  Children’s programming on Emirates includes a wide selection of  Disney films, a host of children’s TV programming, and a broad range of inflight games ideal for keeping young travellers occupied and content for the entire journey.

All Emirates flights have recently enjoyed inflight entertainment enhancements ensuring that young people have more choice.  The enhancements apply to all flights on emirates- both short trips and long-haul journeys, many of which are now equipped with Emirates’ latest inflight entertainment system, ice.

During August and September, feature Disney films onboard include The Incredibles and Brother Bear. On ice equipped aircraft there are 25 Disney Classics including hits such as Dumbo, Lady & the Tramp and The Lion King.  Many classics are also available in a number of different languages including Arabic, German, French, Chinese, Italian, and Japanese, in keeping with Emirates’ commitment to ensuring every young traveller feels at home.

Ice also features more great entertainment for young fliers with over 50 children’s TV episodes as well as a dedicated Arabic children’s television channel.

Over 50 interactive games covering classic arcade games, multiplayer trivia and children’s games suitable for a variety of age and skill levels are also available on every flight.  A number of games offer multi-player functionalities providing travellers with an option to compete with their travel-mates.

Emirates also provides special children-sized headsets for younger passengers that are slightly smaller providing better comfort and nutritious meals for children packaged in brightly coloured, leak-proof boxes. Meal boxes are a hit with children and include a toy, a watch and other little sundries that keep them occupied during the flight. These meals can be booked 24 hours before departure.

Mike Simon, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications said: “With the summer travel season here, Emirates takes special care to ensure that young travellers are comfortable and entertained on all journeys, but particularly long-haul flights where children are more likely to become restless.  Our children’s programming has received terrific feedback from happy parents as well.”

Children’s programming constitutes a large part of Emirates’ award-winning Inflight Entertainment.  The carrier recently won “Best Inflight Entertainment” at the recent 2006 World Airline Awards by Skytrax.  This is the second year in a row that Emirates has been chosen for the accolade, based on results of the Airline Inflight Entertainment Survey commissioned and conducted by Skytrax Research of London.  This award maintains Emirates’ global leadership in the inflight entertainment category.
