An end to the Israeli blockade of the Palestinian territories, the reopening of Gaza Airport and the redeployment of Israeli troops will be the real test of the agreement announced Tuesday at Sharm el-Sheikh, Jordan's King Abdullah II said.

Speaking on his return home from attending the emergency Middle East summit, Abdullah told Petra news agency: "The success of the summit will depend on practical measures on the ground".

He said the measures should be "the reopening of the Gaza Airport and Palestinian crossing points, removing constraints on the movement of Palestinians and the redeployment of the Israeli forces."

Abdullah said the situation should return to what it was before the outbreak of violence on September 28 and include 'a halt to the use of force in the future".

The Jordanian monarch also appealed for new efforts to help put the peace process back on track.

Earlier, Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdel Ilah al-Khatib told AFP from Sharm el-Sheikh that Jordan believes "removing the blockade imposed by the Jewish state on the Palestinian territories and a halt to the use of violence and aggression will be the real test of Israeli intentions."
