According to BNA, HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held a meeting today at UK Foreign Secretary in London with UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Jack Straw.
HM the King expressed thanks and appreciation to Straw over his invitation and the open up of opportunities for discussing a number of important issues of common concern. HM asserted that such meetings under friendship and cooperation ties between the two Kingdoms and which extend to more than 200 years will always contribute in boosting cooperation and understanding mainly in these times where the two friendly countries face great challenges. HM the King expressed condolences to the United Kingdom , Royal Family , Government , UK people and the families of victims over London explosions, asserting Bahrain's firm support to UK people and the international community in their efforts in fighting terror. HM also reviewed with Straw process of Democracy witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain in which both sides asserted their intention in continuing this process. In this regard HM expressed his admiration to the firmly - established democracy in UK . HM also discussed with Straw a number of regional and international issues including the situation in Iraq, Middle East peace Process and reforming the United Nations.
