Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Jaber al-Sabah has accepted Sunday the resignation of information minister Saad bin Teflah al-Ajmi, reported Al-Jazira satellite channel.
Ajmi submitted his resignation on October 18 without giving reasons for his resignation, said AFP.
The liberal MP was appointed to the cabinet in July 1999 following parliamentary elections that saw Islamist and liberal opposition groups gain strength in the 50-seat house.
During his 15-month tenure, the minister was repeatedly criticized, mainly by Islamist MPs, for failing to adopt a conservative media policy in the state-run TV and radio stations, according to AFP -- (Several Sources)
