MTI Automotive, the exclusive importer of top European luxury cars in Egypt, will debut new models from Land Rover, Jaguar, Ferrari and Maserati at this year’s upcoming Automech Akhbar El Yom, the leading international auto show in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

To be held, 7–11 June 2007 in Cairo, Automech Akhbar El Yom will feature the Middle Eastern debut of the Land Rover LR2 and the Ferrari F430. MTI will also unveil the new Range Rover Sport HST, the Jaguar XK8 coupe and convertible, and the Maserati Quattroporte at Automech.

“We will be opening the Egyptian market to the very best from Europe’s top automakers at this year’s Automech,” said MTI’s General Manager Ahmed El Gharib. “With the Land Rover LR2 and Ferrari F430 debuting at the auto show, joined by the likes of Jaguar, Maserati and Range Rover, this is a truly exceptional class of cars to introduce to Egypt’s automotive tastemakers. Whether seeking a car with race track-quality performance or luxury off-road capabilities, the discerning driver in Egypt should be quite impressed with this year’s class of MTI cars at Automech.”

Samy Farid, Land Rover Brand Manager Egypt said: “The introduction of the new LR2 is expected to expand the choice of premium, compact SUVs in Egypt. Whether taking it on or off-road, the new LR2 has been designed with versatility and functionality in mind, alongside the level of Land Rover luxury that our drivers have come to expect.”

The debut of the Ferrari F430 in Egypt will build on a growing sales market for the top Italian automaker in the region. The new F430 is the ideal car to propel the emerging place of Ferrari in Egypt’s luxury automotive market. With Formula One-inspired design and engineering, one of the top-performing engines ever manufactured by Ferrari, and the hallmark Italian attention to luxury and detailing, the F430 is Ferrari's new 8-cylinder flagship, and it is only fitting that it debut now in Egypt.

New Models for a New Automotive Age in Egypt
The Land Rover LR2 is an entirely new design of SUV from the British standard-bearer of four-wheel drive vehicles. The premium middle sized SUV combines dynamic design with a functional, spacious interior and an abundance of advanced technologies to offer a new level of on or off-road performance.

Joining the LR2 is its refurbished sibling, the new Range Rover Sport HST.
Available with a powerful new twin turbo V8 diesel engine (TDV8), supercharged V8 and a V6 diesel engine. With a heritage of leading the luxury off-road market, the new Range Rover sport offers speed-proportional variable ratio steering and 6-speed automatic transmission, a new Hybrid TV option available, offering analogue and digital TV channels, electronic cross-linked Air suspension and a new amazing HST body kit that takes the already exciting Range Rover Sport to a new level.

Moving outside of the SUV market, models from Ferrari, Maserati, and Jaguar complete the luxury sports car class that MTI will unveil at Automech.

The F430 has quickly taken the helm at the 8-cylinder flagship of the Italian automaker, leading a brand new generation of Ferrari 8-cylinder models. Crafted with aluminum technology that began with the 360 Modena, the F430 offers a series of race-track ready innovations inspired by World Champion Ferrari Formula 1 single-seater, including a F1-style driving wheel with a push-button transmission and the engineering of Ferrari’s world-class F1 team.

Equipped with a light, compact 4,300 cc 90° V8 engine, punching out 490 hp to achieve a specific output of 114 hp/litre, the F430, with a max speed of 315 kmh, is track-tested 0-100kmh in only 4.0 seconds – fulfilling the Ferrari standard of blistering performance in a sports and luxury engineered body.

Jaguar XK8 coupe and convertible offer the driver two variations on an eminent model. The XK Coupe is crafted out of next generation lightweight aluminum, powered by a 4.2 litre V8 engine delivering an exhilarating 300bhp, Jaguar Sequential Shift 6-speed automatic transmission, featuring steering wheel-mounted shift panels. The 4.2 litre V8 XK Coupe has an electronically limited maximum speed of 155 mph, and a 0-60 mph time of 5.9 seconds, plus instant throttle response and broad flexibility for punchy performance across the range. Advanced features and options include a Computer Active Technology Suspension, Dynamic Stability Control, an intelligent lighting system, Adaptive Cruise Control and the Jaguar Smart Key System.

Removing the roof, the new XK Convertible offers much of the same alongside the charm of driving with the top down. With an automatic folding roof can be lowered or raised in less than 18 seconds, an aluminum body shell that provides exceptional rigidity on the road, and performance-ready ride and handling, the XK Convertible is a reengineered but faithful interpretation of Jaguar’s automotive lineage.

Maserati Quattroporte is a premium luxury sports sedan. Fitted with a six-speed auto-box maestros ZF, this fully automatic gearbox, with a torque converter, boosts progression of the V8 Maserati engine at low to medium speeds without limiting power. That allows fluid gear change, rapid shifting and improved driving comfort.

With a Front-mounted V8 engine, the Quattroporte hearkens back to earlier days while offers blistering 21st century performance at the level of an Italian sports car, all in the shape of a four door luxury sedan.
