Lebanese Panorama in Egyptian Festival

Chairman of the Alexandria International Film Festival, Mohammad Saleh, has announced that the festival’s administration has decided to present a historic compilation of Lebanese films, using 6 movies to illustrate the Lebanese film, before, after and during the civil war, reported AFP. 

Following is the list of movies to be aired at the festival’s Lebanese Panorama sketch: 

 

-Bint El Haris (Daughter of the Gatekeeper) by Henry Barakat. 

-Ila Ein (Where To?) by George Nasr. 

-Badawiya Fi Paris (A Bedoin Woman in Paris) by Mohammad Salman 

-Al Infijar (The Explosion) by Rafiq Hajjar 

-Beirut (name) by Marwan Baghdadi 

-Shabab Tata Alshams (Boys Under the Sun) by Samir Nasr 

 

 

Meanwhile, Egypt gets the larger slice of the cake, by having ten films to be presented at the festival; two of which are nominated at the official contest. 

Al Abwab Al Mughlaqa by Atef Hatatah and Rihla Mashbouha (A Peculiar Trip) by Ahmad Yihya are up for the awards. 

Morocco entered the contest with three films; Baidawa> (White) by Abdul Qader Al Qata and Al Bab Al Masdoud as well as Ali Wa Rabiah Wal Akharoun (Ali, Rabiah and the Others) by Ahmad Boulan. 

Syria has also chosen to participate in the activities with two films, Arabi (Bedoin) by Mohammad Shahine and Al Risalah Al Akheera by Basil El Khatib-Albawaba.com.
