A blast reported Friday evening near Al-Jinan University in the North Lebanon’s city of Tripoli, the National News Agency reported. "Explosions were heard and a huge fire erupted in the area,” the report said, adding that it “may be due to the explosion of an arms’ depot.”
Initiail reports claimed several people were killed.
Earlier, shooting broke out in Tripoli as gunmen deployed heavily in two rival neighborhoods, Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen, one group supporting and the other opposing to the Syrian regime in Syria. The National News Agency also reported that a rocket fell in Tripoli’s area of Al-Zahriye.
