As part of its ongoing aims to spread cheer to the children of Jordan, a delegation from LG Electronics (LGE) and Middle East Complex (MEC) recently paid a visit to the SOS Children’s Village in Tabarboor, where they distributed schoolbags to over 107 children . This visit formed the firms’ “Your Wishes Come True with LGE” Campaign, and was the second of its type to be made by the firm over the last two years.
The LGE delegation was headed by both Mr. T. Y. Lee, General Manager of the LGE Amman Branch and Mr. Ghazi Farouq, Assistant Managing Director for Marketing at the Middle East Complex, an agent for LGE products in Jordan.
The team, received warmly at the SOS village, distributed of gifts and schoolbags to children of different ages residing at the village. The LGE delegation spent the day with the village children, and the visit proved to be a fun and rewarding experience for everyone involved.
When asked to comment on this initiative, Mr. T.Y .Lee said,” We at LGE feel that it is our duty to work towards bettering the quality of life of all members of the Jordanian community. After all we at the firm believe that our presence in Jordan extends far beyond providing high quality consumer electronics and digital technologies for the masses.
We at LGE are in fact amongst Jordan’s top supporters of social development and economic growth, and we therefore feel that such initiatives are key to our mission. Over the past two years it has been a joy for our team members to be with the children of the SOS village. The joy on those children’s faces is a source of inspiration for each and every one of our team members especially during the season of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr. The feeling we get from doing something good for the community is a source of gratification for us, and we hope to continue in this tradition for many years to come.”
Mr. Farouq from his end said, “LGE and MEC have always striven to ensure that all members of society are positively affected by their efforts and products. “It was important for LGE and MEC to spread the Eid joy to as many children as possible. The gifts that we chose to give the children were thoughtful, for they indirectly encourage them to further their education. We at MEC are very proud to be associated with LGE, for their efforts are certainly much needed in the Jordanian community. Being at the SOS Children’s Village has always been a fun and gratifying experience for us.”
From her end Ms. Lina Kopty National Director of the SOS Children’s Village Association of Jordan thanked LGE and MEC for their efforts and on this occasion, she said, “We at the SOS Children’s Village thank both LGE and MEC for their kindness and their perpetual support. This kind gesture is very much appreciated by everyone here at the organization, for if anything it goes to show the high level of social responsibility enjoyed by everyone at LGE, and MEC. We are very thankful for their continual efforts, for these efforts helped put a smile on the faces of our children.”

The “Your Wishes Come True with LG” Campaign isn’t the first of its type to be initiated by the firm since during the holy month Ramadan LGE also launched its “Hope Campaign“. Through its “Hope Campaign” the firm ensured that several children in Jordan got the reconstructive surgery they needed to live happy and healthy lives. LGE has also supported the “Dead Sea Ultra Marathon” over the last 13 years, and plans to continue to do so, especially since the proceeds of this event go towards the treatment of neurological patients.
