LG LH70 Sets New Standard for LCD TV Design
Advanced Technology is Beautifully Hidden in this Slim, Sleek and Stylish TV
LG Electronics, a major player in the global flat panel display market, announced the launch of its LH70 (New Scarlet), a full HD LCD TV that combines the highest level of slim sophistication and sleek refinement with incredible picture quality. The launch took place on May 12, 2009 at the Grand Hyatt – Amman, during an elaborate event that featured a fashion show and a Salsa performance.
Beautifully hidden inside of this stylish TV, with rounded curves and scarlet accents, is advanced technology that provides incredibly sharp full HD image quality with LG’s TruMotion 120Hz technology and rich, clear sound. The new LH70 is distinctive thanks to its superior picture and sound quality with a sleek and eye-catching silhouette. LG reinforced its position as a leader in the slim TV industry by developing thinner power circuits and supply units. In addition, LG relocated the LH70’s tuner and components from behind the screen to below it, further reducing the thickness to a mere 1.56 inch (39.7 mm), making the LH70 an incredibly slim all-in-one Full HD LCD TV.
The TV’s scarlet frame and contoured edges are gentle, like the lining of a silk dress. Within this outline, the LH70 incorporates an enticing, glossy silhouette and unique scarlet red accents. The soft, circular, transparent power button, positioned in the center of the TV’s lower bezel, is more refined on the LH70 - unlike the “beating heart” LED from the previous model, a red glow now takes a 360-degree run around the rim of the power button, emitting a shimmering white LED glow when the TV is on. The new color characteristics not only complement the design, but also give the TV greater emotional appeal.
Commenting on the launch of the LH70, the Managing Director of LG Electronics Levant, Mr. Kevin Cha, said, “With the New Scarlet, LG Electronics has engineered a unique product that delivers attractive aesthetics, and outshines similar technical specification LCDs. For a full HD LCD TV, the New Scarlet’s bold design serves as a décor piece in the home, speaking volumes about the unassuming sophistication and natural beauty that LG has carefully nurtured and allowed to bloom.”
From his end, the Middle East Complex’s Chairman of the Board, Mr. Osama Al Khalili, said, “As one of LG Electronics’ partners in the Kingdom, we, at the Middle East Complex, do see it a pleasure and a privilege to bring the LH70 to the Jordanian market. We are more than certain that our customers are anxious to get their hands on this latest innovative creation by LG Electronics, especially with all the exceptional technical features it offers, such as Bluetooth connectivity.”
LG LH70 also allows for a wealth of content once relegated to the computer onto the big screen with support for Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and HD DivX. With Bluetooth, the LH70 connects directly to mobile phones to easily display mobile pictures and movies in the living room. A USB 2.0 port and HD DivX support make it easy to watch high resolution video files stored on external hard discs, memory cards or other USB devices. Four HDMI 1.3 ports allow multiple HD or full HD sources to be connected while ensuring the highest level of clarity and compatibility.
For a truly immersive viewing experience, sound is just as important as picture quality. The LH70 incorporates LG’s invisible speakers provide dynamic, fully enveloping sound and further create great sound, incorporating LG’s Clear Voice II system, which digitally enhances voices to make them easier to hear.
LG fully understands that TVs are no longer limited to how they look, sound and perform, but how they affect the environment. That is why the LH70 includes Smart Energy Saving Plus, a technology that reduces power consumption by precisely controlling the TV’s backlight. This system uses LG’s Intelligent Sensor technology, which analyzes the light in a room and adjusts the backlight accordingly. This can lower power use by up to 75 percent compared to other comparably sized TVs, while also reducing eyestrain during extended viewing.
“We designed the LH70 to be subtle, yet beautiful and to fit into any space, breathing with it, not working against it,” said Mr. Kevin Cha. “From its sleek lines and refined curves to its incredible picture quality, the LH70 is a work of art that anyone would be proud to display.”
LG’s beautifully sophisticated LH70 full HD LCD TV will be ready to adorn living room walls by the end of May 2009, available for purchase through Darwish Al Khalili showrooms and authorized retailers across the Kingdom.
