Global digital leader LG Electronics has strengthened its position in the home entertainment market, with the launch of its 17.1-inch widescreen notebook W1PRO Express Dual. The next generation notebook PC is equipped with the next-generation optical drive - HD DVD.
LG recently launched a premium notebook featuring a European-style digital TV DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcast-Terrestrial) module, enabling the viewing of SD/HD broadcasts. With a 1080P high definition, the HD DVD supports six times the definition and the capacity of a regular DVD disc.
“With notebook PCs emerging as the centerpiece of convergence devices, LG endeavors to lead this trend,” said Mr. K. W. Kim, President, LG Electronics, Middle East and Africa operations. “We will strengthen the company’s penetration into the premium market by enhancing our existing line-up of notebook PCs to cater to every possible segment.”
The 17.1-inch widescreen allows users to view films and link to a large HD TV via a 7-in S-Video port, to enjoy realistic digital images. Equipped with Intel’s Core 2 Duo T7400 CPU, 2GB DDR2 memory, ATI Radeon X1600 graphic card, and SATA 160GB HDD, multitasking is quicker and easier than ever, even while working on data-intensive projects such as special effects, rendering and 3-D painting.
