The Ras Jedir border crossing point (Medenine) was closed for ten minutes after altercations between smugglers and Libyan customs officers.
Spokesman for the National Defence Ministry Lieutenant-Colonel Belhassen Oueslati said to TAP that altercations took place, Saturday morning, between smugglers and Libyan customs officers in the locality of “Dhahret El Khass” at 5 km from the Ras Jedir border crossing point.
As regards shots heard from the Libyan side, Oueslati specified that they were warning shots fired by the Libyan customs officers to deter smugglers from advancing.
