Live Competition of Improvement and Innovation Case Studies to be launch in November

The Continual Improvement Subgroup (CISG), a subgroup of Dubai Quality Group "DQG" will be celebrating World Quality Day on 11th Nov 2010. As part of the celebration DQG announced today the opening of nomination for the "Live Competition of Improvement and Innovation Case Studies and "Quality Quiz" competition from organizations within UAE and Gulf.

In a press release, DQG stated that all types and sizes of organizations can participate in the competition. Organizations can submit actual studies and cases to prove the success of their experience in the process of continual improvement.

Successful case studies should have used any of the improvement methodologies like Kaizen, Six Sigma, Reengineering, and Innovation in products and services etc.

The first session of Quality competition organized last year by Continual Improvement Subgroup in cooperation with Dnata Co., Kanoo Group, S.S. Lootah Group and Abu Dhabi Systems and InformationCenter, witnessed the participation of 58 case studies from various sectors including banking, tourism and travel, industry, information and investment.

The companies participated in the first session of the competition managed to reduce cost/ save approx. 2.67 million dirhams through the implementation of continual improvement strategies.

Last year's winners were "Jumeirah Group" – Gold prize, "Royal Bank of Scotland" silver prize and "Al Mashreq Bank" won bronze prize.

Continual Improvement Symposium this year coincides with the celebrations of "World Quality Day". In cooperation with several governmental and private organizations, DQG will hold a series of events to celebrate this day in the UAE in order to enhance the concept of quality in all organizations operating in the UAE.
