Lloyds TSB today announced that it has appointed Bert de Ruiter as Managing Director for its Dubai based Middle East operations.

Bert has worked with Lloyds TSB, one of the world’s largest banking groups for over 10 years. Previous to Bert’s role as Wholesale Banking Director of Lloyds TSB Middle East he was Senior Head of Lloyds TSB Corporate Banking in the Netherlands.

Bert started his financial services career in 1989 with AMEV Nederland NV, now Fortis. In 1992, he joined ABN Amro Bank NV in the Netherlands and thereafter moved to Lloyds Bank in 1997. He was appointed Senior Account Manager in 1998 with responsibility for Lloyds TSB’s Rotterdam branch. Bert was promoted to a Corporate Banking role within the Lloyds TSB Group in 2000.

Commenting on his new role, Bert de Ruiter said,

The main branch of Lloyds TSB is in Jumeirah, housed in a custom built landmark
building, located on Al Wasl Road opposite Safa Park. The bank also has Customer Service Centres located at the Arabian Ranches, Healthcare City, Green Community and UPtown Mirdif. Lloyds TSB Middle East employs over 250 people providing a full range of financial services including: Personal Banking, Business Banking, Corporate Banking, Offshore Banking, Private Banking, Treasury Services and Trade Finance Services.
