Lombard Odier, one of the largest Swiss independent private banks, has expanded its team focused on Middle East clients with the appointments of Ziad Al Toura and Matthew Garnham to drive client services in the Gulf. Ziad, previously with National Bank of Kuwait, offers clients the balance between local understanding and international best practice.
Ziad and Matthew join Lombard Odier from Credit Suisse's private banking division, where they spent four years working together on the Middle East desk. They will be based in London, reporting to Arnaud Leclercq, Head of Private Clients business in Eastern Countries and the Middle East.
"Our Middle Eastern clients are typically ultra high net worth individuals with a global outlook and many have interests in Europe and the UK," commented Arnaud Leclercq, Head of Private Clients business in Eastern Countries and the Middle East. "Setting up a dedicated Middle East team, run out of London, ensures our internationally-focused clients will receive seamless advice and portfolio management across our London, Geneva and Dubai offices, combining our depth of local understanding with our vast international expertise."
Ziad has more than twenty years experience in advising Middle Eastern clients. Before joining Credit Suisse in 2004, he led private banking teams at Ahli United Bank Plc in London and Gulf Bank in Kuwait City. He was previously Head of Retail Banking at the National Bank of Kuwait in London, where he managed portfolios for high net worth clients.
Matthew has seven years' experience as a financial advisor, most recently at Credit Suisse where he advised Middle Eastern institutions and ultra high net worth individuals. He previously worked with high net worth clients at IFG financial services.
