Lufthansa celebrates its significant presence and growth for one year on its services between Bahrain and Frankfurt. The inaugural flight to Bahrain was launched in May 2006. With an existence of just over 12 months in the market, Lufthansa increased its flights from Bahrain to Frankfurt from previously three to currently four weekly flights. The fourth flight was added with the beginning of the summer 2007 schedule and will be a seasonal flight for the summer period.
Lufthansa flies every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday as departures & arrivals from and to Bahrain. Lufthansa provides a shuttle from Dammam to Bahrain offering its Dammam customers flights connecting the region with Frankfurt seven days a week. Three times from Dammam via Kuwait to Frankfurt (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) and a four times service from Bahrain.

As of July 1st, 2007, Peter Pollak is appointed General Manager Passenger Sales UAE & Director Gulf & Pakistan to take on the challenge of heading one of the most strategically important regions in the Lufthansa global network. He assumes the responsibilities from Uwe Wriedt, who after five years in Dubai, is moving to Cologne in Germany to undertake the position of Director Passenger Sales, Lufthansa German Airlines, Cologne/Bonn.
Peter Pollak studied Business Administration at Friedrich Alexander University in Nuremberg (November 1980 – July 1983) and then at Fachhochschule Munich, Business Administration/ Touristik (September 1983 – September 1985). From February 1986 until December 2000, he served Swissair as Key Account Manager (1986 - 1989) and Sales Manager Bavaria (1990 – June 1996). From July 1996 until September 2000, he was a member of the Swissair Management Board in Germany, responsible for Sales and Marketing. In January 2001, he joined Lufthansa in Stuttgart as Head of Regional Passenger Sales, for South West Germany (Stuttgart, Mannheim and Nuremberg). Thereafter, starting January 2004, he took over the responsibility as Head of Regional Passenger Sales in Munich covering the region of Southern Germany.
Commenting on the appointments, Joachim Steinbach, said, “I am pleased to announce the new assignment of Peter Pollak as General Manager Passenger Sales UAE & Director Gulf & Pakistan for this region. He has extensive experience in managing and steering sales teams successfully. We are proud to have him onboard the team”.
He further said, “At the same time I would like to thank Uwe Wriedt for his excellent commitment in the past five years in spearheading the team. Uwe Wriedt will now take on new challenges in Cologne/Bonn as Director Passenger Sales, Lufthansa German Airlines”.
On all flights from Bahrain, Lufthansa offers the new Business Class which is operated by the Airbus A330-300 and Airbus A340-300. The new business class offers maximum comfort, more space, a diverse information and entertainment program and excellent service on board. The state-of-the-art business class seat converts into a two meter complete flat bed.

The promotion started in April and is available until end of June: 2.500 extra mileage in Economy Class, 5.000 in Business Class and 7.500 in First Class.
