Lynn Gervais has recently been appointed as director of public relations for The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), announced Vivienne Gan, regional director of public relations, Middle East. In her new role, Lynn will oversee the hotel's media relations activities, website, social media, content for all printed collateral, e-marketing efforts, community programs, advertising and corporate brand messaging.

Ms Gervais most recently served in the same capacity at The Fairmont Chateau Whistler where she successfully managed the media relations department for the hotel, particularly during the recent 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Prior to that, she worked in a regional role overseeing the public relations functions of five Fairmont properties in Vancouver. Ms Gervais began her public relations career in the Canadian Rockies where she represented one of Canada's most iconic hotels before moving to British Columbia.

A Canadian national, Ms Gervais holds a Business Management Diploma from GrantMacEwanCollege. She is an avid yoga enthusiast and loves all adrenalin sports from snowboarding to skydiving.

Standing 14 storeys high, The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre epitomizes understated luxury and elegance behind its handsome limestone facade. Guests may access the direct walkway to The Gate which is the heart of the financial district, plus the added convenience of the city of Dubai at their doorstep. Hotel features also include five distinctive restaurants and lounges, the largest ballroom in the area, a health club and spa with 13 treatment rooms, and an indoor swimming pool. The 341-room hotel, with 124 executive residences, will be the second in Dubai and the sixth property in the region for the award-winning luxury hotel company. The Ritz-Carlton will welcome its first guests in December 2010.
