A black spirituals and gospel concert by the famous Manda Djinn, was held on Tuesday evening in the Algerian National Theater, Mahieddine-Bachtarzi. Earlier, a similar concert was held in Oran.
Manda Djinn is an Afro-American from Brooklyn, New-York. She got her first contract and started working and performing on stage when she was only 11, as a tap dancer.
<i>Liberate Algeria</i> reports that black spirituals and gospel songs were actually a way of relaxation for her on Sunday church but soon she was discovered as a great talent. She settled in France in 1984 and devoted herself to Jazz, till she rediscovered her childhood repertoire of black spirituals and gospel.
