As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Mashreq recently organized its second blood donation campaign for staff in association with the Dubai Health Authority Blood Donation Centre 'Al Wasl Hospital'. The two-day campaign witnessed the participation of 124 blood donors who came forward to be part of this noble cause. The campaign recorded increased donations over the first drive in the month of May this year. The blood donation drive comes in light of the scarcity of supply available for Thalassemia patients, constantly in need of blood every 3-4 weeks. In addition, blood is also required by cardiology patients who undergo open heart surgeries, leukemia patients or with a bleeding tendency and thousands of other people who are either terminally ill or victims of tragic accidents, all of whose lives depend on availability of blood supplies.
