MBRPLD Chairman hosts Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland

Discussions revolve around the importance of leadership development and possibilities of future cooperation

Mohammed Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development (MBRPLD), an innovative leadership Programme designed to develop future national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development of Dubai, has announced that it has recently facilitated a high-profile meeting between Ahmad Bin Bayat, Secretary General of the Dubai Executive Council and MBRPLD’s Chairman, and An Tánaiste (Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland) H.E. Mary Coughlan, T.D., at the Executive Office. 

During the meeting, which was also attended by Adel Al Shared, CEO of MBRPLD, H.E. Mary Coughlan, T.D., was given a detailed presentation on MBRPLD’s objectives, strategies and activities. The MBRPLD officials also took the opportunity to exchange ideas with the Deputy Prime Minister on wide ranging topics, including leadership development, economic progress of Dubai and also possibilities of establishing future cooperation between Ireland and Dubai to develop leaders.  

Commenting on the high-level meeting, Ahmad Bin Bayat said, “The meeting with Ireland’s Deputy Prime Minister was significant in terms of MBRPLD’s strategy and immediate plan of action. It was also in line with our vision of expanding Dubai's leadership base and ensuring the sustainability of our development programs, as we shared ideas and best practices that are essential in creating efficient and influential leaders.”

Adel Al Shared said, “It is our strategy to regularly hold discussions with global leaders and present in detail both the vision of MBRPLD and Dubai, because this strategy is in line with the objectives of the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015. The meeting with H.E. Mary Coughlan, T.D. paved the way for possible cooperation in future with Ireland in the field of developing leaders.”

H.E. Mary Coughlan, T.D., who is also Ireland’s Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, the ministry which oversees Enterprise Ireland, was in Dubai heading an Irish trade mission to the UAE. As part of the agenda, the trade mission had also hosted a reception for MBRPLD, which was attended by participants of Government Leaders program, a level of MBRPLD that aims to qualify the future leaders of Dubai Government departments.

MBRPLD is a unique leadership development program designed to develop the professional expertise of prospective and incumbent leaders in Dubai and the UAE. It has likewise been established to ensure long-term, systemised leadership development in line with the Dubai's long-term strategic plan.
