The MECOM Telecommunications and ICT Summit, being held on the 23rd – 25th of April 2007 in conjunction with the MECOM exhibition, is gearing up to become the definitive forum for addressing key issues in the industry. Taking place at the new Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), it is attracting regional leaders, telecommunication enterprise managers and international experts who are attending the summit to network and exchange expertise on pressing issues facing regional telecommunication industries.
“The telecommunications sector in the region is witnessing an exciting time, with telecom monopolies making way for more liberalized market structures and customers pressing for a greater range of services. In addition, there is global pressure on telecommunication infrastructure towards seamless conversion, creating a new dynamic with a host of new opportunities and equally plentiful challenges. The continual process of change in regional telecommunications necessitated a targeted event serving as the de facto industry forum, and we are confident that the MECOM exhibition, with its associated Telecommunications and ICT summit will address the need by becoming a representative event for the telecom sector,” said Patrick Latchem, Managing Director, MECOM Summit
Speakers at the Summit include Mohamed Al-Ghanim, Director General, TRA UAE; Osman Sultan, CEO, du; Mohammed Al Qamzi CEO, Etisalat; Bo-Erik Dahlström, President and Head, Ericsson Middle East; Noel Kirkaldy, Director Wireless Broadband MEA, Motorola Networks & Enterprise and Alan Horne, General Director, Bahrain TRA among others.
“The MECOM Summit will play an instrumental role in gathering the industry’s decision makers in one place at the same time. With representatives from all major telecom companies attending, we are looking forward to a rewarding summit facilitating expertise exchange and business development,” said MECOM Summit speaker Osman Sultan, CEO of new UAE telecom provider du.
The Summit will host a series of seminars that will cover the latest developments, issues, products and opportunities in the communications sector such as wireless, satellite, 3G, Internet and broadband, VOIP and next-generation networks.
