MedZone, a leading regional manufacturer of medical equipment and testing devices, has signed an agreement with Dubai Techno Park, the largest technology hub in the Middle East, to set up its new AED 3 million facility at the Park. Covering a total land area of 10,000 square meters, the R&D and manufacturing facility will be fully functional within two years.
MedZone manufactures medical equipment and testing devices for various illnesses, as well as high-tech devices such as bluetooth ECG machines and USB-based medical devices. Research is currently ongoing for the development of advanced cancer detection devices. From its Techno Park base, MedZone will target wholesalers and distributors of medical equipment and healthcare products throughout the world.
Abdalla Al Banna, Senior Manager, Sales & Marketing, Dubai Techno Park, said, “Techno Park was set up with the objective of attracting technology leaders from various industries. MedZone is a prominent player in the regional healthcare sector, and we are glad to welcome them to the formidable line-up of industry leaders already present at Techno Park. The move will deliver MedZone significant advantages, as they can leverage the Park’s excellent facilities to gain a competitive edge.”
Tareque Pirzada, CEO, MedZone, said, “The decision to choose Techno Park as our base was influenced primarily by the Park’s prime location and state-of-the-art infrastructure. Also, the Park is situated in the vicinity of the upcoming airport, which would allow us to efficiently and cost-effectively deliver our products around the world. This is extremely important as sound logistical support is crucial to the sustainability of any manufacturing facility.”
“MedZone is currently in the process of developing a revenue model based on the business strategies we have put in place. We will look to leverage the Techno Park brand to form strategic relationships with local governments as well as local establishments,” Pirzada added.
Dubai Techno Park is being developed as a hub for various industries and the new economic zone provides attractive incentives, world-class infrastructure and single-window clearance. It is the first technology park of its kind in the Middle East and brings with it the backing of the Government of Dubai as well as many private and semi-private organizations.
