A packed room on the 51st floor of the Capital Club, Bahrain's premier private business club, recently heard an inspirational talk on modern and contemporary art from Bashar Al Shroogi, Director of Cuadro Fine Art Gallery, Dubai's largest multi-gallery space. Hosted by Capital Club, Mr. Shroogi, a contemporary art expert and a trained architect delivered a presentation on 'Introduction to the Art Market' to its Members and their guests.
During the presentation, Mr Shroogi explained the process of finding, appreciating, and collecting modern and contemporary art. He also analysed the interests and practices of a fast changing art world. As there have been significant changes in the art market over the past decade with more art lovers attracted towards modern and contemporary art, Mr Shroogi shared a number of tips and gave advice on purchasing and building individual collections.
In February this year, Mr Shroogi presented the first in the series of lectures on strategies or collecting modern and contemporary art entitled "Art of Collecting" at an exclusive ladies' function at Capital Club. Mr Shroogi runs the Cuadro gallery and lives and works between Barcelona, Spain and Dubai, UAE.
