The Egyptian-hosted Sharm el-Sheikh summit will be extended until Tuesday, reported Al-Jazira satellite Channel.

The report said that all participants will stay in the Red Sea resort to continue talks aimed at ending the violence in the Palestinian lands which erupted on September 28th.

Meanwhile, Israeli Transport and Tourism Minister Amnon Lipkin-Shahak said that top foreign ministry officials of Israel, the Palestinian Authority, the United States and Egypt are drafting a document to put an end to violence in the Middle East, reported AFP.

President Bill Clinton and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak began a second round of bilateral talks Monday evening, said AFP.

The two men had met before the brief opening session of the summit, during which Clinton and the host, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, addressed the participants before taking a long break.

Clinton was later expected to meet separately with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.

The European Union's top diplomat, Javier Solana, who is attending the summit but was not present at the foreign ministers' meeting, said: "There is some progress, but I don't want to say I'm optimistic.

"Something is moving, but slowly," he said, according to AFP – (Several Sources)
