Local GSM provider MobileCom signed an exclusive sponsorship agreement with Jordan Youth Club’s football team, whereby the company will provide support to the club for the 2005 – 2006 season.
MobileCom CEO Mickael Ghossein pointed out that there many local clubs, which require similar encouragement saying, “This is where the private sector should step in to back Jordanian sport. Choosing the Jordanian Youth Club comes in line with that objective, to which MobileCom is always keen to commit. Supporting local teams reach their potential is extremely important.”
Under the agreement, Jordan Youth Club will participate in all tournaments organized by the Jordanian Football Federation such as the Jordanian League, Jordan Cup, Super Cup, and Federation Cup as well as any other official tournament and tournament organized by MobileCom.
In signing the agreement, Jordan Youth Club President Salim Khair expressed his delight saying that MobileCom is a company that has an encouraging record of fruitful partnerships. "MobileCom is a distinguished ally to local sports, which encouraged us to form this sponsorship understanding that we are sure to bear benefits on our club.
In addition to running football teams, Jordan Youth Club also provides facilities for other sports, athletics plus a social and cultural club.
As the agreement stipulates, MobilCom will provide funds so that the Club can purchase sports wear, install banners and other necessary equipment. In turn MobileCom's logo will appear on the team shirts and will be able to promote its offers at the Club’s facility during games organized by the same Club.
In continued support of local Jordanian sports and the youth, MobileCom has recently renewed its agreement with Jordan Basketball Federation to sponsor the Madares (Schools) League and University League in addition to some of the games from the National League which ended in March.
