Modhesh Friends’ Club began a new season of fun learning at Modhesh World on June 21 as children and parents gathered to kick off the month-long summer club. They were familiarized with their peers, supervisors and trainers in the presence of their parents ensuring that they were comfortable to enjoy the five weeks of festivity that they had enrolled for. The club will complete its sessions on 29 July, 2010.
Thirty eight staff members have been deployed to mentor and monitor children this year, ensuring that there is one volunteer for five children. The staff are carefully chosen keeping in mind that they are friendly, patient, and are well educated.
The club caters to children between ages of three and ten. Different activities have been planned for different age groups to ensure that children are able to take maximum advantage of the club at their age. Groups and activities are devised to ensure the best possible learning experience.
Each age group has activities encompassing physical, mental, emotional and social growth. Activities planned include taekwando, Islamic culture, etiquettes, and cooking. In cooperation with Dubai Police, children will also be taught to handle different real life scenarios. Field trips to places like Wild Wadi, Atlantis, and Dubai Dolphinarium are also part of the itinerary.
Rashid Abid Marzouk, an Emirati member of the club said “Modhesh is my best friend and I am excited to join Modhesh Friends’ Club. I am delighted to be here finally and I am sure I will have an amazing time.”
Another Club Member, five year old Mohammed Ahmad Sami from Egypt said, “I like the club very much and the classrooms are very nice. I love the colors and Modhesh drawn everywhere on them.”
