Famous poet and writer El Hadj Mohamed Lehbib Hachelaf passed earlier this week at the age of 81. Born in 1924 in Djelfa, Mohamed Lehbib Hachelaf was an important name in poetry. He wrote poems for well-known singers such as Mohamed El Anqa, Nora, Sheik El Hasnaoui, Abderrahmane Aziz, Rabah Deriassa, Saloua, Mohamed Lamari and Dahmane El Harachi. <i>Liberte Algeria</i> reports that Mohammed Lehbib Hachelaf was the founder member of the Association for the Protection of the Algerian Musical Inheritance and he was also the founder member of the Festival of Lakhdar Ben Khelouf.
