Cisco Consumer Products today announced that it has appointed Mohammad Meraj Hoda as Managing Director Emerging Markets. The appointment of a regional Managing Director is part of Cisco's plan to further evolve its presence in the emerging markets – a region that is an important contributor to Cisco's growth in the consumer business. Hoda's focus will be on leading the consumer division growth in the Emerging Markets theatre for Cisco and burgeoning markets and continuing to develop Cisco consumer brands such as Linksys and Flip Video.
"Cisco recognizes emerging markets as one of the key growth contributors for its consumer business, so it is a very important region to continue to focus on," said Mohammad Hoda, Managing Director Emerging Markets. "In my new role, I have the opportunity to further develop the strategies that I have set in motion already to increase our share and build upon the success that we have already achieved in the region."
Cisco's wish is to increase focus in key emerging countries that provide significant revenue share. In these markets, Cisco will invest and increase local resources to grow markets. Hoda will strategically lead the team that is responsible for growing key markets.
"We are very happy to announce that Mohammad will be our Managing Director for Emerging Markets," said Stewart Muller, VP, International Sales and Marketing, Cisco Consumer Products. "This region offers a potential for rapid growth, and we are confident that Mohammad is the right person to help us capture that growth for Cisco Consumer Products."
