Mr. Abderrafii Hamdi, the cabinet minister in charge of the Moroccans Residing Abroad (MRE), was quoted as saying on Friday by the Moroccan radio that a total of 551,742 Moroccan expatriates have returned to Morocco, as of July 13.

Bladi.Net reports that Mr. Hamdi indicated that since the launching of the "Transit 2005" operation there was a dramatic increase in the number of expatriate arrivals to the kingdom. But despite this large influx, no unusual incidents were recorded, the official added.
