ALBAWABA - Moroccan Gen Z protesters have agreed to halt their demonstrations until Thursday after King Mohammed VI announced that he will deliver a royal speech on Friday, Al Jazeera reported.
King Mohammed VI's speech is scheduled for the opening of Parliament next Friday, and Gen Z protesters said they will stop taking to the streets until they hear the speech.
The Gen Z movement said in a statement posted on social media that "the protests will be temporarily suspended until Thursday," following "the agreement of the majority of the demonstrators."

It added that the purpose of the suspension is "to reorganize and plan to ensure greater effectiveness on Thursday, ahead of the parliament meeting scheduled for Friday with the royal address."
The statement explained that "this pause is not a retreat from demands, but rather a strategic step to strengthen the voice of the youth and ensure it is heard clearly and effectively."
On Sept. 27, Gen Z activists launched protests in multiple Moroccan cities, calling for an end to government corruption and urging reforms to improve healthcare, education, and employment opportunities amid widespread joblessness.
