Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar held talks Tuesday with Moroccan king Mohammed VI in the Moroccan port city of Tangier on issues of mutual interests, said Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

At the conclusion of his two-day visit to Morocco, Aznar was quoted by the agency as saying that the meeting took place in "an open and smooth atmosphere."

Aznar, who also met his Moroccan counterpart Abdulrahman al-Yusufi, said his visit to Morocco boosted the level of mutual confidence. I have proved to our Moroccan friends how Spain is interested in building prosperous Morocco.

He said Spain and Morocco realized "they can resolve all differences through dialogue and joint work."

Aznar cited that Spain extended donation to develop the Moroccan northern region.

Spanish projects in Morocco are estimated at 41 million dollars, said KUNA.

The projects are designed to provide jobs for Moroccans, a move that will help eliminate illegal immigration to Spain - Albawaba.com
