Morocco’s King Muhammad VI is expected to begin a two-day visit to Mauritania on Sunday, the royal court said in a statement issued on Saturday, cited by KUNA.
The visit would mark the King's second trip to Mauritania since he assumed power.
King Muhammad VI was one of the first leaders who congratulated President Maaouya Ould Sid Ahmed Taya on the foiled coup attempt led by former officer Muhammad Ould Hnana earlier this month.
The Moroccan King’s visit, in addition, would mark the first visit by an Arab leader to the country following the attempted coup. (Albawaba.com)
