The Moroccan Government has decided to recall its Ambassador to Nairobi for consultations following the Kenyan authorities’ decision to recognize the self proclaimed "Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic".
Bladi.Net reports that in an official statement made by the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation, the Moroccan government emphasized that "this decision, to recognize a virtual entity, stripped of any sovereign state, lies in obvious contradiction to the international law and completely contradicts the international community’s call for a political and negotiated solution."
The statement also stressed, that “the Kingdom of Morocco strongly deplores the unjustified and unjustifiable decision, announced by the government of Kenya, to recognize the alleged "Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic" (SADR), and to build so-called diplomatic relations with it”.
