Morocco\'s ASPAM Call on Madrid to Guarantee Safety of Transported Products

The Moroccan association of citrus fruits producers and exporters (ASPAM) said it is the Spanish government responsibility to guarantee the security of Moroccan products transiting Spanish territory, in conformity with laws of international trade and provisions of the Morocco-EU association agreement, Maghreb Arabe Presse (AMP) reported Wednesday.

Following threats by Andalusian fishermen organizations to loot Moroccan exports to Europe, the association said it is surprised by ongoing confusion between Morocco-EU negotiations over fisheries and Moroccan exports, MAP said.

The agency added, the association also asked Moroccan authorities and European bodies to act to guarantee the safety of Moroccan products transiting through Spain and avoid looting and vandalism actions similar to those of last January -- Albawaba.com
