The much-awaited results of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MRM) Business Award will be announced at Madinat Jumeirah on April 7. Organised by Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the fourth round of the award ceremony will once again see a large number of high profile delegates, businessmen and media attending the event.
Held annually under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the MRM Business Award, which is the winner of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme’s Award for Best Administrative Project for the year 2007, has received entries from 234 companies for its latest cycle in 2008.
HE Eng Hamad Buamim, Chairman, MRM Steering Committee, will present the names of the shortlisted companies, licensed and registered with
any UAE Chamber of Commerce & Industry and operating in the UAE for at least two years, to the panel of international and local judges chaired by HE Sultan Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy, for the selection of the winners of the seven categories including Manufacturing (UAE Free Zones); Finance; Re-Export, Construction, Real Estate Development, Supply Chain & Logistics and Corporate Social Responsibility.
The winners are selected on the basis of the Business High Performance Model. The assessment criteria of the Award include Management Criteria and Performance Criteria, which takes 70% of the total evaluation weight. The management criteria of 30% include five elements which are the leadership perspectives, the strategic initiatives, quality imperatives, corporate culture and corporate social responsibility. Moreover, the
performance criteria include the output which is
the actual quantity of products and services produced by the firm, the outcome which reflects the achievements implemented by the establishment, and the impact of the firm through its contribution towards the nation and society.
• The MRM Business Award was established in 2005, by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry. It is the winner of the Dubai Government Excellence Award for the ‘Best Administrative Project’ for 2007.
