MTV Arabia, the Middle East's leading music and entertainment channel, today announced its sponsorship of the Grammy-Award-winning Coldplay in the group’s first performance in the Middle East as part of its ‘Viva La Vida Tour’ in Abu Dhabi on 28 March.
Coldplay has sold more than 30 million records worldwide and has been reveared as one of the most famous rock bands of the new millennium, rocketing to success in 2000 with the single ‘Yellow’ from their debut album 'Parachutes'.
The band’s current album ’Viva La Vida‘ has been depicted as one of the most commercially successful rock album released this decade and has earned the band seven nominations at this year’s Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. Coldplay’s hits include: ‘Viva La Vida’, ‘Violet Hill’, ‘Lost’, ‘Fix You’, ‘Clocks’, ‘The Scientist’, and ‘Lovers in Japan’.
