Mubarak, Burns to hold talks

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will meet on Wednesday with the US Assistant Secretary of State William Burns, who will arrive later Tuesday to hold talks over the latest developments in the Middle East.

A source from the Egyptian Presidency told <i>KUNA</i> news agency that talks will focus on coordinating efforts between Egypt and the US to push the peace process forward between the Palestinian National Authority and Israel.

Talks will deal with other issues including the situation in Iraq and Sudan in addition to the bilateral relations between the two countries. Burns' visit to Egypt comes in the framework of a tour to include Israel and the Palestinian territories as well.
