King Fahd bin Abdelaziz received Wednesday a telephone call from Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
According to the official Saudi News Agency (SPA), the president “congratulated the king on the Eid al-Adha and expressed the best wishes to the Saudi government and people as well as to the Arab and Islamic "ummas."
The agency did not say whether the two leaders discussed political issues of mutual concern. Mubarak also spoke on phone with Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdelaziz, and reviewed with him a number of regional and international issues as well as bilateral relations.
The call came amid positive world reactions to remarks by Prince Abdullah, who was quoted in the New York Times on Sunday as saying he favored a "full normalization" of Israeli-Arab relations following Israel's "full withdrawal from all the Occupied Territories." (Albawaba.com)
