Municipality of Abu Dhabi City receives a Bahraini delegation

Engineer Abdullah Saeed Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director Municipal Assets & Infrastructure at the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, received a delegation from the Municipal Council of the Bahraini capital Al Manama, headed by Majeed Milad Ahmed Al Jezeeri, Head of the Municipal Council and the accompanying delegation, who visited the municipality to review the expertise of Abu Dhabi City in organizing workers & bachelors accommodations along with the rules governing them.
At the outset of the meeting, engineer Al Shamsi welcomed the visiting delegation on behalf of H.E. Khalifa Mohammed Al Mazroo’ee, General Manager of the Municipality, wishing them a pleasant stay in the UAE, and benefiting from the expertise of the Municipality in the field of infrastructure, strategic planning and other fields, hoping that such expertise to be applied in a way that ensures the sustainable development in all sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He hoped for these visits to result in boosting the bilateral ties between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“Abu Dhabi Municipality always seeks to provide every comfort and stability to the inhabitants, and figure out practical solutions that add to the benefits of all community segments, while giving due consideration to the provision of social security and stability, uphold the authentic values of the UAE community, and advocate human right principles & all relevant conventions in respect of all


residents of the UAE, including labourers, as well as protecting employee rights in security and decent living” said Al Shamsi.
Al Shamsi briefed the visiting delegation on the achievements of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City and singled out Workers Accommodation City at Al Mafraq, and reviewed the progress on constructing roads and infrastructure projects such as sewage & drainage systems, water & telephone lines and other utilities.
Al Shamsi also reviewed with the visiting delegation several roads, bridges, facilities and sophisticated infrastructure projects, focusing on the achievements made in Road networks, facilities as well as other initiatives underway. He also reviewed with the delegation the experiment of the Municipality in constructing roads network, facilities and services at Workers Accommodation Project at Musaffah (ICAD  Zone 1); which is arguably the biggest accommodation project not only at the GCC level, but also throughout the region, particularly in terms of area, facilities and provision of comfortable and secure environment.
For his part Majeed Al Jazeeri hailed the achievements made by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City stressing the importance of reviewing the achievements made by the Municipality in various fields. He also reiterated the importance of boosting the fraternal links and maintaining the ongoing communication and cooperation in various fields.
It is worth-noting that roads project of Workers Accommodation City at Al Mafraq, which is expected to be opened before the end of this year, is one of key projects undertaken by the Municipality given its social and residential significance. The project, which costs about 652 million dirham, is situated on the highway of Al Ain – Abu Dhabi Street and Abu Dhabi – Al Ain Trucks Street. It included construction of a 45-km long roads network to serve the workers city, which has been fully completed and opened for traffic last August. The Municipality has also

completed construction of 1962 extra parking slots together with other infrastructure works such as the installation of 1352 lighting poles, sewage & drainage system, water & telephone lines, and other public utilities.
