Nadia Rashad and Hala Shiha Compete For Role

Egyptian actress Nadia Rashad will be competing with up-and-coming actress Hala Shiha as Queen Nazali, King Faruq’s mother, this Ramadan, reported Al Sharq El Awsat newspaper. 

Rashad plays the legendary queen, who was married to King Fouadl, in her latest series Awraq Masriah (Egyptian Papers), while Shiha plays the queen in Hiwari Wa Qusur (My Dialougue and the Palaces). 

According to the London based daily publication, Rashad said, “I read about the character of Queen Nazali a lot and I studied her history, the various sides of her personality, her photographs and her attire.” 

The actress explained that her ‘Nazali’ series “emphasizes the queen’s relationship with her son and husband as well as her relationship with Queen Frida.” 

On her love of portraying historical characters, Rashad said, “I love this type of acting for its culture and the diversified facets. 

On the other and, Hala Shiha is also getting ready to portray the legendary queen in her series, My Dialogue and the Palaces, directed by Ahmad Khader an starring Hussein Fahmi. 

The actress said that she too has read all about Nazali in various books and publications in order to get closer to her personality.  

Hala added that her series takes on a specific historical time depicting the life of Nazili’s husband, Sultan Fouad the First, who ruled Egypt – Albawaba.com.
