Mr Nasser Mohammed Al Mulla Al Jasmi, Director of Public Relations and Communication Department – Abu Dhabi Municipal Affairs and CEO of Zone Group Media, has been elected as Vice President - UAE of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) - Gulf Chapter.
In the newly constituted board for 2010-11, Mr Sunil John, Chief Executive Officer, ASDA’A Burson-Marsteller, has been elected as Vice President for Training and Certification. Mr. John is also currently the Chairman of the IPRA UAE Chapter and a member of the IPRA International Council.
Mr. Faisal Saeed Al Zahrani, Director of Internal Public Relations- Saudi Aramco has been re-elected as president for the Gulf Chapter. The other elected members are: Sultan Al Bazi, CEO- Dar Al Tariq Publishing (Executive Vice President); Mr. Khaled Al Khulaifi, Assistant Director Public Relations and Information Department – Kuwait Airways (Vice President – Kuwait); Mr. Fahad Ibrahim Al Shihabi, Public Relations Director In the Parliament of Bahrain, and the Director of Public Relations Association in Bahrain (Vice President – Bahrain); Mr. Hassan Al Saleh, Managing Director of TRACCS – Oman (Vice President – Oman); and Mr. Jassim Ibrahim Fakhroo, Director of Communication & Media Department – Hamad Medical Corporation (Vice President – Qatar).
Sarah Al Ayed, Managing Director of TRACCS in Saudi, was appointed as the Vice President for the Western Region of the Kingdom, while Mr. Hamoud Al- Ghobaini, the Deputy Executive President of Mobily is the Vice President for the Central Region of the Kingdom. Ittidal Al Ayyar, General Manager of WAY Communications in Kuwait is Vice President – Membership; Mr. Ahmed Abed Sheikh has been appointed as the Vice President of Media Relations; Mr. Jassim Al Shuwaikh as Board Director and Mr. Salah Al Dhaheri as the Treasurer.
Mr Al Zahrani said: "I thank all the members for their efforts and confidence in us. The focus in the coming stage will be on developing new programmes and seminars to strengthen competencies, and attracting new members.”
IPRA – GC was established in KSA in 2003 as an initiative of Aramco, to support the Public Relations industry in the region. The organization is also part of IPRA Worldwide which was established in London in 1955 and runs 70 offices around the world.
