Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Lloyds TSB Middle East to provide training and employment opportunities for UAE national job seekers and graduates. The MoU aims to support UAE nationals as a part of the Emiratisation strategy in different work sectors in UAE.

The agreement was signed by H.E Feddah Lotah, General Manager of Tanmia and Bert de Ruiter, Managing Director of Lloyds TSB Middle East, at The Dubai Careers Fair UAE 2009, organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre.  The signing follows the successful partnership between both organisations during 2008 which emphasised the importance of Emiratisation, in addition to giving opportunities for UAE Nationals in the banking sector.

Under the terms of the MoU, Tanmia will work closely with four universities to create a qualified and skilled pool of Nationals in the UAE, sharing information and data to help students find training and job opportunities.  In accordance with this MoU, Lloyds TSB Middle East has agreed to support and develop registered Tanmia students.   In addition, both parties agreed to train job seekers who will be offered specialised training programmes.

‘We are pleased to sign this MoU with Lloyds TSB Middle East which will enable us to share our vision of maximising employment opportunities for UAE nationals. We will make the best use of our resources to facilitate training of national job seekers preparing them for successfully handling the requirements of today’s dynamic corporate environment,” said Feddah Lotah, General Manager, Tanmia.

‘Emiratisation isn’t just a word for us it’s an integral part of our day to day business.  We feel the signing of this MoU, for the second year running, strongly reflects our ongoing commitment to the development of UAE nationals within the banking sector’ said AbdulRahman Saqr, Head of Emiratisation for Lloyds TSB Middle East.
