A Sudanese government source confirmed to Al Arabiya on Monday that electricity is expected to be gradually restored within hours.
Sudan is experiencing a complete power outage due to a malfunction in the Merowe Dam, media reported.
Days ago, a large number of citizens in several neighborhoods in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, Omdurman, and other states complained about the electricity company imposing exorbitant fees and fines, reaching 250,000 Sudanese pounds ($415), on each subscriber who resorted to direct connection from the poles during the first period of the war between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, especially in 2023 and 2024, according to the Sudanese website 'Al-Mashhad'.
