The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), the Number One Bank in the UAE, is a major sponsor of the Abu Dhabi Classics Run. The run will raise funds for Abu Dhabi Classics music education programmes and the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City diabetes prevention programmes.
NBAD sponsorship of Abu Dhabi Classics Run, which will take place September 29, 30 and October 1, is in line with the Bank Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CSR) strategy to support cultural events and the wellbeing of the community.
The three-day event offers Abu Dhabi residents and others the opportunity to compete in a semi-competitive race, enjoy a family walk, and a children's walk. There will also be booths at the event to promote music and health awareness and individual screening.
The finale of the races will be the NBAD Elite Run, during which runners will compete to finish the race before the 32-minute Symphony No. 5, composed by Ludwig Beethoven, ends.
"NBAD actively promotes cultural events and the enhancement of life in the country," said Sally Paterson, the Head of Business Planning & Strategy at NBAD. "NBAD acts as a role model in the social and environmental development of the UAE, and the countries in which we operate. The Bank is engaged in many vital activities in this regard such as donations, sponsorships, corporate philanthropy, and CSR projects".
NBAD's community support focuses on the areas of education, health, community development, environment, art, music, and sports.
As a Golden Baton Sponsor of Abu Dhabi Classic Run – The Beethoven Challenge, NBAD has committed to provide 40 volunteers to support this event.
