Iranian President Mohammed Khatami has praised the existing relations between Syria and Iran as he described them as strong and strategic, according to the official SANA news agency Wednesday.
In the course of handing the credentials to the new Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Dr. Hamed Hasan, Khatami praised Syria’s firm stances under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad in defending the Arab and Islamic nations’ rights, the agency said.
In addition, Khatami hailed Syria’s stance with Iran, as he stressed that Syria and Iran are exerting all possible efforts to preserve peace in the region, and to preserve the Iraqi and Palestinian rights, the agency concluded. (Albawaba.com)
