Toshiba Computer Systems Middle East has appointed Elia Mansour as its country manager for the Levant and Egypt. Based in Lebanon, Mansour will extend sales and marketing activities for Toshiba’s distribution network in the territories following Toshiba’s on-the-ground support strategy for the region.
“The move complements Toshiba’s strategy to move away from sales support being a centralised function, towards in-country support which gets us closer to each market and enables us to respond rapidly to changing market conditions,” said Ahmed Khalil, general manager, Toshiba Computer Systems Division, Middle East and Africa.
According to recent IDC reports, Toshiba’s notebooks have been the number one brand in Lebanon for six years, positioning the company as the key player in the market.
“Mansour brings with him a range of skills in Information Technology and management; having spent nearly 15 years in this sector. His appointment will drive Toshiba’s further growth in the Levant and Egypt and will ensure that we get even closer to our channel partners and customers,” said Khalil.
Holding a bachelor’s degree in business computers from Lebanese American University, Mansour was previously Toshiba product manager at PC DEALNET, Toshiba’s distributor in Lebanon where he was responsible for setting up and delivering sales and marketing plans.
